This reveals the colossal ignorance of the priests who failed to grasp that Jacob’s ladder was not a literal event but a metaphorical representation of the human spine.

The ladder symbolized the 33 vertebrae of the spine, with angels representing angles of light or messengers. The connection between angels and wings was unrelated to physical appendages but instead conveyed their celestial nature.
