THE POWER OF BEING UNREADABLE

If there is one consistent thread running through Trump’s presidency, it is unpredictability as a deliberate weapon.

Again and again, we see the same pattern unfold; praise followed by pressure, threats paired with offers, escalation one day, restraint the next and sanctions alongside negotiations. There is no clear script, nor logic, and that is precisely the point.

Trump does not telegraph his moves, he does not follow diplomatic norms, instead he creates strategic uncertainty, forcing opponents into a constant state of reaction rather than planning.

Look at what has unfolded, and what is still unfolding, from trade wars to military posturing, from sudden withdrawals to unexpected overtures, from verbal provocation to unexpected restraint. The message is never the specific threat, the message is: you cannot predict me.

When an adversary cannot predict whether the next step is pressure, peace, silence, or escalation, every option must be prepared for. That drains resources, fractures confidence, and shifts the balance of power without a single shot being fired.

This is psychological warfare. In an age where kinetic conflict is catastrophic, the highest form of strategy is to exhaust adversaries mentally, economically, and politically until resistance collapses on its own.

Predictable leaders reassure the system, unpredictable leaders destabilise it, and destabilising this evil, decaying system is the only way to force real change.
