In the meantime, the US military is having to deal with two generations of preparedness. Not easy. But it will get done and without the apocalyptic scenario of Russia and China being dragged in to the region. If you grew up in the 70s and 80s you will remember this, not to mention the oil shocks.

Then President Trump will exit the Middle East permanently in order to concentrate on the western hemisphere. Saudi Arabia and Israel will be the regional powers and Iran can sign the Abraham Accords.
