If you voluntarily choose not to engage with freely-given ‘information/data’, on grounds that you dislike or distrust the messenger delivering it, what you’ve done is drawn a blind, advanced conclusion about the veracity of data (or not) which you have zero actual experience with … while simultaneously relying on said blind opinion as the circular justification to avoid obtaining any evidence, or relevant context, that could lead to an educated, informed decision.

This is true for all sides of all debates, throughout all of history, on all issues that merit human discourse.

If a radical marxist turns off the broadcast as soon as Trump comes on television, or if any one else on air defends nationalism or populism, they are incapable of objective truth. This incapacity will remain until they are willing to listen, dispassionately, to the ideas of someone they neither like nor respect, without believing that doing so equates to a betrayal of their own ideas.

The same is true of political Conservatives and traditionalists.

The same is true of faith walkers and atheists.

The same is true of Us all.

This is not to say one need immerse themselves endlessly in viewpoints contrary to their core beliefs. It is healthy to have deeply held beliefs and observations confirmed by like-minded others; and a majority of time should always be spent brainstorming with those others on solutions that improve/address societal issues.

But effectively engaging whole-of-society problems, without listening to the ideas of at least *some* of those with whom we vehemently disagree, is oxymoronic, and impossible.

Humanity as a whole isn’t evil, and neither are (most) of the deeply confused/afflicted sub-demographics across humanity. But there are many who lack the mental, social, and spiritual skillsets we once knew and lived by in ages past. We can rebuild them collectively, and unify in that process, if we keep the focus where it needs to be: A better, more Godly world for our kids, and all future generations.

Lastly, it should go without saying that if media, of *any kind*, devotes its valuable air-time encouraging viewers/listeners to ‘turn off’ information funnels, based solely on their own dislike or distrust of those funnels, that media is not looking out for everyone … It is looking out for itself.
