• Truth cannot simply be poured into a mind.
• A person can only receive what their soul has become capable of receiving.

• Some live almost entirely through the senses.
• Others through feeling.
• Others through imagination.
• A few begin to perceive spiritual realities directly.

These are stages of awakening. And because souls stand at different levels, the same truth cannot be given in the same form.

• This is where the spiritual teacher differs from the intellectual.
• The intellectual wants to explain.
• The teacher wants to awaken.

Highest knowledge demands inner seriousness.
It cannot remain a collection of interesting ideas.
At a certain point, the seeker must feel that it concerns their entire existence — as though their life depended on understanding it.

Perfect teaching requires perfect receptivity.

A Master may speak the highest truth, but if the soul is unprepared, the words remain dead concepts.

The seed is perfect.
The soil determines whether it grows.

Yet the Master must not speak only to the most advanced.
He must descend.

He must take the same spiritual reality and reshape it so it can reach different human beings:

• For the child, a story.
• For the artist, an image.
• For the philosopher, a concept.
• For the farmer, practical wisdom.
• For the seeker, an esoteric exercise.
• For the suffering soul, a source of meaning.

The truth does not change. Its expression changes.

Sunlight is one, yet becomes warmth, color, and life depending on what receives it.

This is the responsibility of the spiritual teacher:

• To make the highest accessible without losing its depth.
• To descend without falling.
• To speak to the awakened without abandoning the sleeping.
• To teach not for admiration or authority, but for the evolution of the human being.

The true Master is not the one who demands that others rise to his level —

but the one who can descend to every level without losing the truth.

He becomes a bridge between worlds.

The deepest measure of spiritual knowledge is not how high one can ascend…
but how much light one can carry back down for those still in darkness.
