From Darkness to Blinding Light
A phenomenon I have observed among sincere Patriots for some time now roughly translates to something like this: “If Light is truly rising, and Godliness truly does claim victory in this era of human history, then why does the darkness still appear to set the terms in every major societal arena, from geopolitics and finance, to cultural pride and the very technologies that shape daily perception?”
In many ways, this set of observations carries real weight. The long arc of history shows us that, for over five millennia, various influences best characterized as “Agents of Darkness” engineered successive systems of separation, scarcity, chaos, and human spiritual amnesia, with a persistence that outlasted even the greatest of empires. These malign forces established false, godless priesthoods, inverted and blended morality, law, and economy, and in so doing, weaponized every conceivable aspect of the human journey against the very ones for whom the journey was intended. In the earliest days of ancient Egypt the temple of the Pharaoh controlled the calendar, all spiritual and ‘Afterlife’ texts, and the very definition of proper living, rendering the ordinary people dependent on a caste they never chose for their whole understanding of ‘righteousness’, and ‘eternity’. In ancient Babylon the great Ziggurats, built by Nephilimic autocratic royalty, housed both the gods and the grain ledgers, permanently fusing the perceived authority of the sacred with one of the world’s earliest economic monopolies, and making both religious devotion and lifelong debt compulsory, and indistinguishable. Centuries later Imperial Rome would articulate the subversion of private conscience with perfection, when it codified that allegiance to the Emperor alone would serve as the only acceptable measure of one’s public, and private, faithfulness and piety. This draconian shift inside one of Western history’s most enduring civilizations led directly to Medieval practices like ‘indulgence mercantilism’, and the machinery of Inquisition across Europe, while continuing a multi-thousand year pattern of spiritual demoralization, disempowerment, and degradation. All of it encouraged and abetted by the very institutions of faith, law, and justice purposed to protect, and inform, the common Men and Women.
By successfully and repeatedly erecting artificial divisions between an individual’s Soul, and that Soul’s connection to the Holy Spirit of God and Creation, the evil which permeated and infected the entirety of human history secured its perpetual salvation. Across the West, post-Renaissance colonial expansionism duplicated the approach of deliberately inhibiting human spiritual consciousness on a global scale, frequently dismantling indigenous societies’ systems of worship, along with their relationship to the land, the environment, and one another. Usually simultaneous to this was an ushering in of both centralized religious, and administrative, control over newly conquered territories, which brought forced conversions, massacres, and in many cases eradication. Nothing essential to human community escaped: Not the covenants between people and sacred places, nor the transmission of living knowledge across generations. Not the stewardship of Earth’s abundance of Life, nor the architecture of law, ceremony, or ritual. Every domain was ultimately recalibrated to service an ancient, inverted hierarchy, in which the many served the few, and the finite provided the illusion of permanence.
Yet running parallel to the detestable successes of those dark forces and influences throughout history is another story of equal antiquity, and gravitas: The unwavering determination of God and the Divine to redeem humanity from an Age-old spiritual coma, reinvigorating and transforming the very Image of the Earth and all upon it. Forces of light inspired to action, word, and deed by the Holy Spirit have unceasingly planted the seeds of remembrance, and tended the garden of human destiny. They have spoken through prophets and poets, authors and scientists, and those ordinary men and women who “rejected the official narrative” since time immemorial. From the Axial Sages who taught that human attention must point inward, to the desert fathers and mothers who withdrew from Empires to recover unmediated prayer, to the reformers who insisted the Holy Spirit required no institutional passport, the Promise has remained: A time shall come when the machinery of separation would be exposed, held accountable, and dismantled by a unified human family reclaiming its First knowledge. That time is no longer conjecture; if you are reading this literary piece, you are alive as witness to the beginning of that Age of Fulfillment.
